Crossing is an action where the free foot moves through an adduction towards the standing foot, generating a position of the feet when the moving foot traverses the line of the standing foot.
't is important to distinguish two types of Crossing:
- Cross to: where the feet are crossed very tightly together and both feet are under the dancers body;
- Across: where the feet create a crossing effect without touching each other; this situation is used during steps with Drive Action when a large shift is required (e.g. First step of Chasse from PP).
